Mrs Jackie's™ is committed to providing our community of families with quality childcare to children of all ages in an ideal atmosphere that enables children to grow mentally, physically, emotionally and confidently. Therefore it is our obligation and commitment to provide quality childcare in a safe, clean, healthy, nurturing, and nutritional environment while assisting children to grow with confidence in a multicultural and multiracial atmosphere. Along with these attributes, children will be given a positive place where they can interact with other children while feeling safe and secure in their surroundings just like their at home. Here they will be allowed the latitude to discover and explore their surroundings. This creates a naturally nurturing environment where children learn through play. In order to achieve this goal we must use other key elements such as creating positive relationships. Communication and confidentiality are some important tools we use to meet individual family needs, allowing us to recognize a child’s natural ability and any potential needs in each child’s developmental stage. Communication with parents and our community keeps us informed of each family’s needs and concerns, which in return will ensure we provide quality childcare and other resources to support your family.

Discipline Policy
At Mrs. Jackie’s, we encourage children to use polite manners and be respectful of themselves and others. We will use positive reinforcement such as verbal praise and stickers to reward good behaviors and we will verbally discourage bad behaviors. In no situation will we ever use corporal punishment such as spanking, verbal abuse or threats, withholding or forcing food, or placing substances like soap in a child's mouth.
Ages 0-17 months: Redirection will be the only form of discipline used to correct a child.
Ages 18 months-2.5 years: If a situation occurs that requires a provider’s intervention, the child may be redirected to a different activity. If that fails to provide a solution, the child may be taken to a quiet place away from other children, but still within sight and hearing distance of a provider and given a chance to "cool down" in time out.
Ages 2.5 years-4 years: If a situation occurs that requires a provider’s intervention, the child may be redirected to a different activity. If that fails to provide a solution, the child may be taken to a quiet place away from other children, but still within sight and hearing distance of a provider and given a chance to "cool down" in time out.
Ages 5 years+: If a situation occurs that requires a provider’s intervention, the child may be taken to a quiet place away from other children, but still within hearing distance of a provider, and given a chance to "cool down" in time out. If time out fails to provide a solution, the child may be asked to call their parent and explain the reason for the misbehavior.
Supervision
There will never be a time when your child is left unsupervised at Mrs. Jackie’s. Whether playing in any of the rooms in these centers, outside getting fresh air on the playground, doing activities or eating lunch, or on a walk to the yard, there will always be a provider close by. If you refer to the schedule, you will see that up to 21 children may be in the center with five providers. During nap time, all children and both providers will be in the sleep room. We enjoy interacting with the children, but we are also aware that they are developing interpersonal communication skills with their peers and may need us to step back and quietly observe at times.
ALL children that act out and cannot get it under control may be subject to missing out on 30 minutes of screen time only they are allowed two hour a day.
